Chloe has been thinking

I, Chloe, am again in the mood to write. I believe there is more which needs to be shared on the subject of felines and their need for away time.

You will remember my family went on vacation and left me with our neighbor. It is not necessary for me to share this, but I will, I like this neighbor. He is almost like family to me. I just do not want my primary family to feel too relaxed about taking time away from me.

Anyway, back to my story. Gemini was in a major emotional state the other day. I gather it was because of me. This woman has almost as many issues as the average feline!

I decided “what is good for the goose, is good for the gander” and thought to myself, “Chloe you haven’t taken time for yourself in a while, now is a good opportunity for some away time.” It was shortly after dark, the hunting was good…lots of little night creatures about and I left.

When I returned the following day during the afternoon I didn’t know what to make of the situation. Gemini had obviously been crying, the Princess was hugging me and she and her mother were cuddling me. What a fuss! I admit, I like being cuddled. They are a gentle and cuddly family.

The Princess seemed to know I was hungry and gave me a large bowl of my favorite soft food. There were even treats laid out on the back deck for a snack. This alerted me to the fact that something was unusual.

I asked one of the less snooty felines next door what I had missed and was told Gemini and the Princess had been outside calling me, shaking my treats, leaving tempting offerings (which my cat neighbors thanked me for) and generally fussing for quite some time before I returned home.

There appears to be a bit of a double standard in this house. My family can disappear without a word for days, but I leave for less than 24 hours and poof! they stress out. What is that about?

Yes, I know there was a time when I needed medication to deal with any separation from my humans, but I’ve worked these issues through to some degree. Well, I’m in the process… O.k. we just won’t talk about that…this is about them, not me. O.k. fine!

I’m sorry I made Gemini cry. Maybe she’d like a mouse or two to remind her I love her.
